Icon of St. Sergius of Radonezh from the collection of Grigory Leps
September 3, 2014, at the exhibition «Monastery of st. Sergius» it will take place a presentation of an icon of St. Sergius from the collection of Gregory Leps. The icon is dated to the middle of the 19th century. Its size is 203 × 67 cm.
The icon shown for the first time to a wide audience is made in a famous workshop of Laura by the icon-painter Ivan Malyshev.
The painting technique of niello imitation reproduces a precious mounting of the miraculous icon.
